Therapy With Tasneem

Trauma Therapy

Sometimes past experiences stay with you longer than expected. You may feel on edge, have unwanted thoughts, or find it hard to feel safe or relaxed. Trauma can come from many things — difficult events, loss, or situations that felt overwhelming at the time. It can affect how you think, feel, and respond in everyday life. In trauma therapy, I help you gently explore what you are carrying, at a pace that feels safe for you. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you are ready. We focus on helping you feel more steady, more in control, and less overwhelmed by what you have been through.

For some people, approaches such as EMDR therapy can help process trauma memories in a calmer and more manageable way. Trauma can also affect relationships, emotions, and daily wellbeing, which is why some people choose to combine this work with individual therapy or relationship support through couples counseling.

If this feels like something you need, you can reach out when you feel ready.

Best Online Trauma Therapy

Sometimes it feels easier to open up from your own space, especially when past experiences feel heavy or difficult to talk about face to face. You might carry feelings of anxiety, fear, numbness, or confusion without fully understanding why they show up so strongly. Even small situations can sometimes trigger overwhelming emotions, making it hard to feel at ease. The best online trauma therapy offers a safe and private space where you can talk about these experiences in a way that feels comfortable and manageable. Using approaches like trauma focused therapy, the process gently helps you understand and work through what you’ve been carrying. The aim is to help you feel more in control, more understood, and less alone in your healing journey.

Individual Trauma Therapy

Some days can feel heavier than others, even when it’s hard to explain why. You might feel on edge, disconnected, or stuck in thoughts that don’t seem to settle. At times, it can feel like you’re carrying a lot inside without having the right words to express it. In individual trauma therapy, we focus on what’s going on within you in a way that feels safe, calm, and manageable. You don’t need to explain everything perfectly, and there’s no pressure to rush the process. Using approaches like trauma focused therapy, we gently work through your experiences at your own pace. The aim is to help you feel more stable, more understood, and a little lighter within yourself.

Healthier Relationships

I often see individuals who feel confused in their relationships after going through difficult experiences. You might want to connect with others, but at the same time feel misunderstood, triggered, or unsure how to express what you’re feeling. In therapy, we gently explore these patterns so you can understand what is happening in your relationships and how it is affecting you. We talk about things like communication, boundaries, and how past experiences may influence your reactions. There is no blame—just space to understand yourself and others more clearly. Over time, using approaches like trauma focused therapy, this can help you feel more confident, more steady, and more comfortable in your relationships.

Any Questions

I work with people who are navigating many of life’s challenges, with a particular focus on trauma and anxiety. I also support clients who may be experiencing depression, stress, grief and loss, or difficulties in their relationships. For some, it may be struggles with low self-esteem or a sense of feeling stuck in life, while for others it’s about wanting to grow personally and build healthier ways of coping. Whatever you are facing, my aim is to offer a safe, supportive space where you can begin to explore your experiences, understand yourself more deeply, and move towards healing and change.
Yes, I work with both the Muslim community and the wider UK community. My approach is inclusive, respectful, and sensitive to cultural and faith-based values, while also welcoming clients from all backgrounds, beliefs, and walks of life. I understand that each person’s experiences are shaped by their identity, culture, and environment, and I aim to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and accepted. Whether you’re seeking therapy that acknowledges your faith and cultural context, or simply a safe, supportive place to explore your challenges, you are warmly welcome here.
Scheduling an appointment is easy. You can reach out to me via the contact form on this website, by email, phone, or WhatsApp. I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can get to know each other a little, talk about what brings you to therapy, and decide together if we’re the right fit. From there, we can arrange a time for your first session, either online or in person, depending on what feels most comfortable for you. If you have any questions before booking, please feel free to get in touch. I’ll be happy to help.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw on a range of different therapy approaches to suit your individual needs. This means that rather than using a ‘one-size-fits-all’ method, I tailor our work together to what feels most helpful for you. My practice includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Transactional Analysis, as well as the Gottman Method for relationship work. Each of these approaches offers unique tools for healing, self-understanding, and growth, and together we can explore which ones best support your journey.
Sessions are held in a way that works best for you. I offer a limited number of face-to-face appointments, as well as online sessions via Zoom and phone sessions if you prefer. Each session lasts 1 hour, and together we can decide on a pace that feels right for you whether that’s weekly or fortnightly. This flexibility means you can choose the format and frequency that best supports your needs, while always having a supportive and confidential space to focus on your wellbeing.
Sessions are priced between £80 and £120 per hour, depending on the length of the session and whether they include EMDR. We can discuss the options during your free 20-minute consultation so you have a clear idea of what feels right for you before starting therapy. My aim is to make the process as transparent as possible, so you know exactly what to expect.
